GDHS offers the following placement options for gifted students in Milton/Halton Hills:

Resource Support - Secondary Gifted Placement: the student is placed in a class with a cluster of gifted peers and the teacher receives specialized consultative services, including additional professional development. The Ontario curriculum in each of the clustered classes will be differentiated in breadth, depth and pace from the curriculum being offered in the regular classes of the same subjects.

Resource Support - Regular Class with Consultative Support: the student is placed in regular classes and the teacher receives specialized consultative services. At the secondary level the ‘regular’ class would be a series of subjects as chosen by the student through the option sheet process and timetabled accordingly. His/her regular classroom teacher receives advice/support from a Special Education Teacher to adjust programming to meet individual needs.

In addition, there is a variety of enrichment opportunities available to our students, both within the school building, and in the wider community. Those opportunities range from athletics and extracurriculars, to field trips, workshops, contests, and much more! At GDHS, we encourage our students to get involved in all aspects of their high school experience in order to become well-rounded individuals and leaders of the future.
