The Justice, Community Safety & Emergency Services SHSM is designed
to help students prepare and develop the skills necessary for pursuing
careers in these areas. In these very competitive programs it is critical
that students demonstrate a commitment to their community at large and
a genuine concern for others. Post secondary institutions and recruiting
officers are looking for individuals that have experiences and skills
that set them apart from others. Through HELP! students will be exposed
to many opportunities and challenges that extend beyond the classroom
experience.
Students will:

to pursue careers related to justice, community safety and emergency services
Develop a strong work ethic while making
a difference as a positive role model in the school and the community
Develop employability skills (leadership,
team work, communication) through experiential learning activities
Develop an awareness of school and
community issues
Attain certifications in First Aid,
CPR, conflict resolution, WHMIS and other certifications related to justice,
community safety and emergency services
