The transportation Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) provides students with a strong foundation in the service, repair and modification of vehicles. Students in the transportation SHSM are working towards an OSSD Diploma, but have an extra focus put on their chosen career path in automobile repair.

The transportation technology Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program is a program specifically designed to help students make a smooth and successful transition from high school directly into their post-secondary Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship. It is also the best course offered in our high schools to prepare students for a career as a Truck and Coach Technician, Small Marine Engines, or Motorcycle Technician. Similar apprenticeship preparation certificate programs offered at local community colleges, and private technical training centres can cost between $2,500 and $6,000.
